About New Joy
About the Instructor, Chris Maricle
Ever since my husband and I shared
the natural births of our three
children, I have had a passion for
birth and young families!  I have
been privileged to teach thousands
of expectant couples in the Tulsa
area, holding classes in my home,
my church, medical facilities, and
hospitals.  Now my classes are held
in the comfortable surroundings of
Family Medical Care of Tulsa.
After years of teaching secular birth
classes, I have discovered that a
Christian approach to childbirth education provides a more complete and fulfilling preparation for expectant couples.
My eight years on the Board of Directors of the International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA) and my four years as a Reviewer for the International Journal of Childbirth Education have enhanced my perspective on birth.
The many births I have attended continue to inspire me with the creative miracle that is birth.  My work in parent education has given me the background to help families with their most challenging and yet most rewarding job--parenting!
My qualifications include:
ICEA Certified Childbirth Educator
ICEA Certified Birth Doula
Certified Parent Educator
Certified Breastfeeding Educator
Certified Happiest Baby on the Block Trainer

What You’ll Learn
What makes New Joy different?
New Joy classes will give you high-quality instruction in what you need to know for an informed, positive birth experience. We don’t just talk about labor - we practice all the labor techniques thoroughly until you feel confident.
A variety of teaching methods appeal to all kinds of learners: discussion, hands-on practice, videos, practical stories and relevant information.
All the topics traditionally presented in a childbirth class are included, but you receive spiritual preparation too. God’s plan for a blessed birth is woven throughout the curriculum. Classes begin and end with prayer and there are scriptural references.
No matter where you are giving birth, you will be well-prepared with New Joy.
“Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished!”
